MAJIME ZINE

Dear our readers

First, we'd like to thank you for visiting MAJIME ZINE, floating in the sea of the internet.

MAJIME ZINE is a medium. We have two ways to send out content. One is Zine, a paper book. The other is on here, a magazine on a website. The contents of these two are almost the same.

The difference between the two is in the way the articles are put together.

For example, let's say an article is a piece of thread. In the case of a book, you spin the thread and at the same time imagine the whole picture as a fabric.

It goes a little bit different for a web magazine, we're just spinning a thread, preparing for the weaving someday.

Let's talk about the latter here.

Every week, we keep weaving the thread, in other words, publishing the articles.

We have no idea when it will be done, or if we can accomplish such a thing in the first place.

Reading all this, you may feel like you're on the verge of something extraordinary.

Yes, it is extraordinary.

However, that's what gives us energy to go on this journey.

There is no goal, so every path we take is the right one.

Sometimes we fall down, but we would be happy if the flower we see on the ground was beautiful. However, we can't spin a good yarn if we keep swinging by and falling. In order to spin a good yarn, we need to know what a "good yarn" is.

What does "good" mean to us?

We think that what we think is "good".

It is obvious, but difficult.

We need to unwind and re-spin until we think it is good.

Even if one person's "good" is facing the opposite to the other, we should keep trying to create a beautiful thread.

And we always need to face the question, "What is 'good'?" with an open mind.

MAJIME ZINE is still spinning the yarn here and there in Japan, day in and day out.

Most of the people who appear in MAJIME ZINE today are in their 20's.

However, we are not particular about their ages.

We want to continue this project for a long time, throughout the ages.

We want to spin a "good yarn" for us in our 20s, and continue to do so in our 30s.

Best regards,

Chief Editor Nakano
